On October 8, 2012 the owner of a 2007 Suzuki GSX-R600 motorcycle contacted the La Mesa Police Department to report that the bike was stolen from his apartment complex in La Mesa.

La Mesa Police verified the theft and entered the Suzuki’s information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the motorcycle.

Within minutes, an officer from San Diego Police Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Suzuki GSX-R600 motorcycle on the Police Tracking Computer installed in his patrol vehicle. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the officer tracked the signal to a residential area in the 2100 block of Irvine Street.  The Suzuki was recovered, abandoned and undamaged, and returned to a very grateful owner. The motorcycle was valued at approximately $11,000.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Suzuki GSX-R600 motorcycle on March 28, 2008 at West Coast Motorsports in Perris, California.
