On October 8, 2012, the managers of an automobile dealership discovered that a 2008 Subaru Impreza was missing from inventory.  They reported the theft to the Pueblo Police Department, who then entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers.  This action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Subaru.  LoJack is the only theft recovery system that is directly operated by law enforcement and this interface is seamless and instantaneous.

A short while later, Troopers with the Colorado State Patrol picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Subaru with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  The LoJack PTC provides officers with on-board information which enables them to locate the stolen vehicle quickly, and with an increased margin of safety.

Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack PTCs, the troopers and officers with the Pueblo Police Department tracked the Subaru to a restaurant parking lot, where it was recovered unoccupied. The approximate value of the recovery was $16,000.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in this Subaru Impreza in September of 2012 at Spradley Ford Lincoln in Pueblo, Colorado.
