Case Backhoe Stolen from Houston Job Site Recovered by Police Using LoJack

On October 5, 2012, the owner of a 2007 Case 580 Backhoe contacted the Houston Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen sometime during the night from their construction site off of Clinton Drive in Houston, Texas.
Houston Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the backhoe.
A short while later, officers from the Houston Police Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen backhoe on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the officers tracked the backhoe to an area surrounded by warehouses. Officers continued to track the backhoe, and located it in a grove of trees behind the warehouses. The backhoe appeared to be hidden by the crooks to determine whether the backhoe was equipped with a LoJack system.
The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the 2007 Case 580 Backhoe on November 15, 2006 at Concord Construction Company in Houston, Texas.
