On the afternoon of September 22, 2012, the owner of an Acura Integra contacted the Vancouver Police Department to report the vehicle stolen. According to the victim, the vehicle was taken from the 3700 block of NE 109th Avenue in Vancouver sometime after midnight that day.

Vancouver Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle identification number into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Acura.

Minutes later, a Vancouver Police Department officer received the silent LoJack homing signal transmitting from the stolen Acura on the Police Tracking Computer installed in his patrol car.  The officer followed the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computer and located the Acura in the 4400 block of NE 45th Avenue in Vancouver.  The vehicle, valued at approximately $4,400, did not appear to be damaged.

The LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery System was installed in this Acura in April of 1999 when the car was purchased at South Coast Acura in Costa Mesa, California.  The current owner was not aware the car was equipped with LoJack.
