On Sunday, September 23, 2012, the owner of a 2011 Nissan Maxima contacted the Philadelphia Police Department to report the vehicle stolen from the southwest section of Philadelphia. Philadelphia Police verified the theft and had the Nissan’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle.

A short while later, officers with the Plymouth Township Police Department began to pick up the stolen Nissan’s LoJack signal on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and signal strength cues on the LoJack computers, the officers tracked the vehicle to the area of Ridge Pike in Plymouth Township. The unoccupied vehicle was recovered, and the grateful owner notified.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the 2011 Nissan Maxima on October 5, 2012 at Nissan of Turnersville.
