On August 9, 2012, the owner of a 2008 Saturn Sky contacted the St. Petersburg Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the driveway of their residence on 22nd Avenue. St. Petersburg Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Saturn.

A short while later, troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Saturn on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the troopers tracked the vehicle to a common driveway behind a row of houses on 4th Avenue in St. Petersburg, Florida. The Saturn was recovered with minimal damage and returned to the owner. A possible suspect has been identified and the case remains open.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the 2008 Saturn Sky in August of 2011 at Saturn of St Petersburg, Florida.
