On August 30, 2012, the owners of an Acura Integra contacted the Edgewater Police Department to report their vehicle stolen. Edgewater officers verified the theft and entered the Acura’s information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle. LoJack is the only theft recovery system that is directly operated by law enforcement and this interface is seamless and instantaneous.

A short while later, officer from the Arvada Police Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Acura with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles.  The LoJack PTC provides officers with on-board information which permits them to locate the stolen vehicle quickly and with an increased margin of safety.

Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack PTCs,the officers tracked the vehicle to a day-labor parking lot in the 6300 block of Wadsworth Boulevard.  The vehicle, valued at $4,325, was abandoned.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in this Acura in March 2000 at Keys Acura in Van Nuys, California.
