On August 11, 2012, the owner of a 2007 Ford Mustang contacted the Harris County Sheriff Department to report that the vehicle was stolen from his residence in Harris County, Texas.  Harris County deputies verified the theft and entered the Mustang’s information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle.

A short while later, officers from the Houston Police Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Ford Mustang on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the officers tracked the Mustang to an apartment parking lot. Officers recovered the vehicle and returned it to the grateful owner.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Ford Mustang in March of 2007at Champion Ford – Gulf Freeway in Houston, Texas.
