On August 13, 2012, the owner of a2009 Toyota Camry contacted the Houston Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from private residence out of Houston, Texas. Houston Police verified the theft and entered the Toyota’s information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle.

A short while later, Houston officers picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Toyota Camry on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the officers tracked the vehicle to a shopping mall parking lot, where the Camry was located parked and abandoned. Officers recovered the Camry and returned it to the grateful owner.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Toyota Camry in May of 2009 at Mike Calvert Toyota in Houston, Texas.
