On August 5, 2012, the owner of a 2012 Toyota Corolla contacted the Harris County Sheriff’s Department to report that the vehicle was stolen while the owner was visiting at a friend’s house. Harris County deputies verified the theft and entered the Toyota’s information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle.

A short while later, deputies from Harris County Sheriff Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Toyota Corolla on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the deputies located the Toyota in an apartment parking lot. The vehicle was recovered and returned to the grateful owner.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the 2012 Toyota Corolla in July of 2012 at Mike Calvert Toyota in Houston, Texas.
