On August 10, 2012, the owners of a 2006 Nissan Sentra contacted the New Rochelle Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen while parked near their residence in the city of New Rochelle located in Westchester County. New Rochelle Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers (NYSPIN/NCIC), which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Nissan.

Just five minutes later, officers from the New Rochelle Police Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Nissan on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the officers quickly tracked and located the undamaged vehicle on Severn Street in New Rochelle. The officers contacted the owner and returned the Nissan back to the happy owner at the recovery scene.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Nissan Sentra in February of 2006 in Cox Nissan, Bronx, NY.
