On July 30, 2012, the owner of a Honda Accord contacted the Oklahoma City Department to report their vehicle was stolen from the 2700 block of I-40, in Oklahoma City. The Oklahoma City Police verified the theft and entered the Honda’s information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activates the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle.

A short while later, officers from the Santa Fe Division of the Oklahoma City Police Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signal from the stolen Honda Accord on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following directional signals and audible cues from the LoJack computer, the officers tracked the stolen vehicle to the 6200 block of South Douglas in Oklahoma City.

As the officers converged on the location, they found the unoccupied stolen Honda Accord, recovered the vehicle and returned it to its owner.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Honda in April of 1997, at Autosport Honda Inc.
