Lexus ES250 Stolen in Brooklyn by Owner's Acquaintance, NYPD Recover Car, Arrest "Friend"

A short while later, officers with the Brooklyn South Auto Larceny Unit picked up the silent LoJack homing signal from the stolen Lexus on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the officers tracked the vehicle to a residential street in the Flatbush / East Flatbush section of Brooklyn. They followed the signal for several blocks until they caught up with the vehicle stopped at a light. There, they were able to quickly overtake the vehicle and thus, able to avoid a chase. The driver was taken into custody without incident, and the vehicle recovered without any damage..
The vehicle was recovered in excellent condition, without any damage. The owner was notified, and was elated to learn that her vehicle was equipped with LoJack, and that it had been recovered so quickly.
The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Lexus on May 4, 2010 at Lexus of Rockville Center, New York.
