On the morning of July 10, 2012, the owner of a Honda Accord awoke to discover that her vehicle had been stolen from in front of her residence, and immediately reported the crime to the Reno Police Department. Reno Police verified the theft and had the Honda’s information entered into the state and federal crime computer system, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle.

Within minutes, officers with the Reno Police Department began to receive the silent LoJack homing signal from stolen Honda on the LoJack Police Tracking Computer installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and signal strength cues on the LoJack computer, the officers tracked and located the Honda at the rear of an apartment complex on Tripp Drive. The vehicle was recovered, parked and abandoned. The officers advised the owner of its recovery, and released the Honda to her at the scene.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Honda Accord at Hollywood Honda.
