On July 7, 2012, the owners of a 2005 Subaru Impreza, valued at $14,000, contacted the Denver Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen from a shopping mall in Northeast Denver.

Denver Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Subaru. A short while later, officers from the Denver Police Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Subaru with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircrafts. The LoJack PTC provides officers with on-board information which permits them to locate the stolen vehicle quickly and with an increased margin of safety.

Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack PTCs, the officers tracked the vehicle to East Randolph Place and North Salem Street, where they recovered the abandoned Subaru.  The vehicle was released at the scene to the very happy owner.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in this Subaru at the request of the car’s original owner in April of 2005 in Maryland.
