On June 27, 2012, the owner of a 1999 Acura TL contacted the Baltimore City Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the 5200 block of Fairlawn Avenue in Baltimore City, Maryland. Baltimore City Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Acura.

After a period of time, flight officers from the Baltimore City Police Department Aviation Unit in Maryland picked up the silent Lojack homing signals from the stolen Acura on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers installed in their helicopter. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers the flight officers tracked the vehicle to the 6200 block of Erdman Avenue. There, the officers located the unoccupied stolen Acura. Officers quickly recovered the vehicle and notified the owner.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Acura TL in June of 1999 at Montclair Acura.
