Mercedes Benz Recovered Undamaged by Louisiana Police Using LoJack

New Orleans officers verified the theft and entered the Mercedes’ information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle.

A short while later, a trooper from the Louisiana State Police picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Mercedes Benz on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the trooper tracked the vehicle to a driveway of a residence just outside the city of limits of Slidell. The car was in excellent condition, but the license plate had been removed.  Thanks to the original owner’s decision to install a LoJack System, the Mercedes, valued at $21,000, was recovered and returned to the current owner undamaged.

The follow up investigation into the theft is ongoing.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Mercedes-Benz CLK-55 on 11/2003 in Mercedes- Benz of South Bay.
