LoJack Enables Quick Recovery of Stolen Acura TSX in Maryland

On the evening of May 30, 2012, the owner of a 2009 Acura TSX contacted the Prince Georges County Police Department to report the vehicle stolen from the 9500 block of 48th Place in College Park. After verifying the theft, Prince Georges County officers had the Acura’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers, which activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle.

A short time later, officers from the District of Columbia’s Metro Transit Police Department picked up the Acura’s silent LoJack signal on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers installed in their police vehicles. Following the directional and audible signal on the LoJack Trackers, the officers tracked the vehicle to the 8400 block of Branchville Road in Berwyn Heights. There, the officers located the unoccupied Acura, and quickly recovered it.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Acura TSX at the owner’s request in October of 2008.
