On May 2, 2012, the owner of a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck contacted the Tolleson Police Department to report the vehicle stolen. After verifying the theft, Tolleson Police had the Silverado’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the pickup.

Within minutes, Phoenix Police Department officers from the Maryvale Precinct began to pick up the Silverado’s silent LoJack homing signal on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible signal of the LoJack Tracker, the officers observed the stolen truck in an apartment complex parking lot in the 1800 block of North 45th Avenue. Officers were unable to locate any suspects at the scene and the Silverado was recovered.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Chevrolet Silverado at the owner’s request in November 2006.
