Dodge Caravan Stolen and Quickly Recovered in Prince Georges County, Maryland

On the morning of May 20, 2012, the owner of a 2002 Dodge Caravan reported the vehicle stolen from Southview Drive in the Oxen Hill section of Prince Georges County, Maryland. Officers verified the theft and had the Caravan’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers, which activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle.

Minutes later, patrol officers with the Prince Georges County Police Department began to pick up the silent LoJack homing signal on the LoJack Police Tracking Computer installed in their vehicles. Following the directional and audible signal on the LoJack Trackers, the officers tracked the Caravan to Lake Avenue in the Cheverly section of Prince George’s County. There, they located the vehicle, parked and unoccupied. Police recovered the vehicle and returned it to the grateful owner.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Dodge Caravan at the new car buyer’s request in August of 2002.
