Oregon Officers Track and Quickly Locate Undamaged Stolen Honda Accord

A 2003 Honda Accord LX was stolen during the morning hours of May 5, 2012, from the 20600 block of NE Halsey Street in Fairview. When the theft was discovered, the owners reported it to the Fairview Police Department. Officers prepared a theft report and had the stolen Honda’s information entered into the nationwide law enforcement theft database. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle and prompted it to begin emitting a silent homing signal. Neither the owner, nor law enforcement agents, had to do anything else to activate the LoJack Vehicle Recovery Network, as LoJack’s interface with the police is both seamless and instantaneous.
Less than ten minutes later, an officer with the Troutdale Police Department and a Multnomah County deputy received the silent signal transmitting from the stolen Honda on the LoJack Tracking Computers installed in their patrol cars. Following audio and visual cues on the tracking computer displays, they quickly located the vehicle at Linden & Burnside Streets. There was no apparent damage.
The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Honda Accord in June 2008.
