Ford Mustang Recovered in San Antonio Minutes After Theft was Reported

When the owners of a 2008 Ford Mustang discovered that their vehicle had been stolen on May 2, 2012, they immediately filed a theft report with the San Antonio Police Department. After gathering all of the pertinent information, San Antonio officers entered the Mustang’s information into the state and federal crime computer systems. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle, prompting it to emit a silent homing signal. Neither the owners nor law enforcement agents had to do anything else to activate the LoJack Vehicle Recovery Network, as LoJack’s interface with the poilice is both seamless and instantaneous.
Less than an hour later, officers with the San Antonio Police Department received the Mustang’s silent homing signals on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) installed in their patrol cars. Following the directional and signal strength information on the PTC, the officers quickly located the Mustang, abandoned on a public street. The owner was summoned to the location to claim his vehicle.
The owner was very grateful to have his vehicle recovered so quickly and with only minor damage. The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed at the original owner’s request in April 2010.
