New Orleans Police Recover Nissan Titan Stolen in Gretna in Good Condition

On April 28, 2012, the owner of a 2007 Nissan Titan parked and secured the vehicle near a business in Gretna, Louisiana. When he returned to where he had parked the vehicle later that night, he discovered it missing, and reported the theft to the Gretna Police Department. After gathering all of the pertinent data, Gretna Police entered the information into the nationwide stolen vehicle computer system. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle. Neither the owners nor law enforcement agents had to do anything else to activate the LoJack Vehicle Recovery Network, because LoJack’s interface with the police is both seamless and instantaneous.
Four hours later, an officer with the New Orleans Police Department received the Nissan’s silent homing signal on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) installed in his patrol cars. Following the directional cues on the PTC, the officer tracked the signal and observed the vehicle, parked just off the intersection of Franklin & Marais St. in New Orleans. The Nissan Titan was recovered in good shape and impounded for safe keeping until the owner could be contacted.
The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Nissan Titan at the owner’s request in July 2006.
