Stolen Toyota Tacoma Pickup Quickly Recovered, Undamaged, in Casino Parking Lot in Tacoma

In early April 2012, the owner of a 2008 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck was traveling out of Tacoma area for four days; sometime during that period, his vehicle was stolen from his residence, where he had parked it. When the crime was discovered on April 3, it was immediately reported to the Tacoma Police Department.
Tacoma officers completed a stolen vehicle report and had the pickup truck’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers – a routine police action that automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle. Neither the owner nor law enforcement agents had to do anything else to activate the LoJack Vehicle Recovery Network, because LoJack’s interface with the police is both seamless and instantaneous.
Less than ten minutes later, officers with the Fife and Tacoma Police Departments received the Tacoma’s silent LoJack signal on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol cars. Following the directional and signal strength cues on the computer, the officers quickly located the pickup on the fourth floor of a local casino’s parking garage. The vehicle did not appear to be damaged, and was quickly released to the grateful owner.
The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Toyota Tacoma in December of 2007 when the truck was purchased new.
