Tulsa Officers Quickly Recover Stolen Nissan Altima with Help of LoJack

On March 19, 2012, the owner of a 2007 Nissan Altima discovered that his vehicle had been stolen and immediately contacted the Tulsa Police Department to report the theft.
Tulsa officers completed a stolen vehicle report and had the Nissan’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed within in the vehicle. Neither the owners nor law enforcement agents had to take any further action to initiate police tracking of the Nissan, as LoJack’s interface with the police is both seamless and instantaneous.
Moments later, an officer with the Tulsa Police Department received the Nissan’s homing signal on the Police Tracking Computer (PTC) installed in his patrol vehicle. Following audio and visual cues on the LoJack PTC, the officer located the vehicle in the area of 7300 S. Wheeling Avenue in South Tulsa. The officer quickly located the stolen Nissan at an apartment complex, unoccupied. The vehicle was quickly recovered by the officer and returned to the owner.
