Infiniti G35 Stolen and Recovered Just Over an Hour Later by Seattle Police Using LoJack

In the early morning hours of March 25, 2012, the owner of a 2004 Infiniti G35 reported the theft of his car to the Seattle Police Department after discovering it missing from the area of First & Battery Streets. Seattle Police completed a stolen vehicle report and had the Infiniti’s VIN entered into the state and federal crime computer systems. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Infiniti. Neither the owner nor law enforcement had to do anything else to activate the LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery Network, because LoJack’s interface with law enforcement is both seamless and instantaneous.
Just over an hour later, Seattle Police officers received the Infiniti’s silent homing signal on the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) installed in their patrol vehicle. Following audio and visual cues appearing on the PTC, the officers located the Infiniti in the 2100 block of Western Avenue. The vehicle was abandoned and undamaged.
The Infiniti was released to the grateful owner who was not aware that the vehicle’s previous owner had installed a LoJack Vehicle Recovery System in it back in August of 2004.
