Colorado Police Agencies Quickly Recover Stolen Dodge Caliber Using LoJack

In the early morning hours of March 26, 2012, the owners of a 2010 Dodge Caliber discovered that their vehicle had been stolen and reported the theft to the Pueblo Police Department.
Pueblo Police prepared a stolen vehicle report and had the information entered into the state and federal crime computer systems. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed within the Dodge. Neither the owner nor law enforcement agents had to take any further action to initiate the police’s tracking of the vehicle, as LoJack’s interface with police is both seamless and instantaneous.
A short time later, a deputy with the Pueblo Sheriff’s Office was the first to pick up the silent homing signals from the stolen Dodge on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) installed in their patrol cars. Soon after, officers from the Pueblo Police Department and the Colorado State Patrol also began picking up the distress signals from the stolen vehicle. Following the directional and signal strength cues on their onboard computers, the officers located the Dodge in a city alley. The abandoned vehicle was recovered for safekeeping, and ultimately returned to the very happy owner, who has owned the vehicle less than a month.
The Dodge Caliber had been installed with the LoJack Vehicle Recovery System at the owner’s request only weeks earlier.
