Just before midnight on February 6, 2012, the owners of a 2007 Saturn Aura XR discovered that their vehicle had been stolen.  They quickly reported the theft to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, who completed a stolen vehicle report and had the Saturn’s information entered into the state and federal crime computer systems. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Saturn.

Just five minutes later, officers with the Westminster Police Department and Adams County Sheriff’s Office began to pick up the Saturn’s silent LoJack signal on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) installed in their patrol cars. Following the directional information provided by the PTC, the officers quickly tracked and located the stolen Saturn near 84th and Federal Streets. One suspect was arrested at the scene.

The undamaged Saturn was returned to a very grateful owner, who was unaware that the vehicle’s previous owner had installed a LoJack Vehicle Recovery System in the Saturn in July 2008.
