Aurora Police Locate Stolen Nissan Xterra Reported Stolen in Denver Minutes Earlier

When the owners of a 2004 Nissan Xterra discovered that their vehicle had been stolen on the evening of March 22, 2012, they immediately reported the theft to the Denver Police Department. After completing a stolen vehicle report, Denver officers had the Nissan’s information entered into the state and federal crime computer databases. It was this routine police action that automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed inside the Nissan. No further action was required from the owners or the police, as the LoJack interface with the police is both seamless and instantaneous.
Minutes later, officers with the Aurora Police Department received the silent homing signals from the stolen Nissan on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) installed in their patrol cars. Following the directional and signal strength cues from the PTC, the officers quickly tracked the Nissan to the area of Yale and Chambers, where it was recovered intact and returned to the grateful owner.
The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Nissan at the owner’s request in October 2011.
