Quick Recovery of Stolen Toyota Camry in Oklahoma

After the owner of a 1997 Toyota Camry discovered that their vehicle had been stolen on the morning of February 20, 2012, a report was filed with the Warr Acres Police Department.  Warr Acres Police entered a complete description of the Toyota and the vehicle’s identification number (VIN) into the state and federal crime computer databases.  This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle. Neither the owner nor law enforcement had to do anything else to activate the LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery Network, because LoJack’s interface with law enforcement is both seamless and instantaneous.

A short while later, a deputy with the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Department working the early morning hours, picked up the silent LoJack signal  broadcast from the stolen Toyota. After obtaining a complete description of the stolen vehicle, the deputy began monitoring his patrol car’s LoJack Police Tracking Computer’s signal strength and relative bearing indicator. Following these cues, he tracked the stolen Toyota into an apartment complex in the area of 5700 NW 76th in Oklahoma City. The deputy quickly located the stolen Toyota, abandoned. The vehicle was subsequently recovered and returned to the owner.
