Baltimore County Officers Quickly Recover Stolen Toyota Camry, Undamaged

On the morning of February 7, 2012, the owner of a 2009 Toyota Camry reported the vehicle stolen from the Unit block of Crafton Road in Baltimore County. An officer responded to the scene, and after conducting a preliminary investigation and obtaining all the vehicle information, completed a vehicle theft report. All the Toyota’s information was then entered into the Maryland and national crime databases — a routine police action that automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle. Neither the owner nor law enforcement had to do anything else to activate the LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery Network, because LoJack’s interface with law enforcement is both seamless and instantaneous.
Minutes later, detectives assigned to the Regional Auto Theft Task Force received the silent LoJack homing signal from the stolen Toyota on the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) installed in their patrol units. Following the directional and audible signal on the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen vehicle to the 1000 block of Bond Street, where they located the vehicle, parked, unoccupied and undamaged. Police recovered the vehicle and notified the owner.
The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Toyota Camry at the new car buyer’s request in August, 2008.
