While on routine patrol on the morning of January 10, 2012, officers with the Denver Police Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from a 2009 Kia Rio reported stolen a shorttime earlier to the Federal Heights Police Department.

Following the directional and signal strength cues on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles, the officers tracked the vehicle into Denver. They quickly located the stolen Kia in the 7500 block of East 36th Avenue.  It was recovered and held for safekeeping until it could be returned to the owner.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System had been installed in this Kia Tio at the owner’s request in 2010.
