On the evening of January 21, 2012, while on routine patrol, an Aurora police officer began to pick up a silent LoJack signal on the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) installed in his patrol car. When he queried the reply code from the PTC against the national police computer database, he was informed that the distress signals were coming from a 1999 Honda Civic reported stolen earlier that afternoon to the Broomfield Police Department.

With a full description of the vehicle, and following the directional cues from the PTC, the officer tracked the stolen Honda to the 200 block of South Jasper ,where the abandoned Honda was recovered.

This LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery System was installed in this Honda Civic at the owner’s request in 2010.
