Air and Ground Units in Baltimore City, MD Recover Stolen Honda Accord

On the early morning hours of February 2, 2012, the owner of a 2010 Honda Accord contacted the Baltimore City Police Department to report that the vehicle had been stolen from the 200 block of Franklintown Road in Baltimore City. The responding officer obtained all of the relevant information, and had the stolen Honda’s vehicle identification entered into the state and federal crime computer databases. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle. Neither the owner nor law enforcement had to do anything else to activate the LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery Network because LoJack’s interface with law enforcement is both seamless and instantaneous.
Later that afternoon, flight officers with the Baltimore County Aviation Unit began to receive the silent LoJack homing signal on the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) installed in their helicopter. Following the directional and audible signal cues from the PTC, officers tracked the stolen Honda to the 3800 block of Windsor Mill Road in Baltimore City. There, flight officers and patrol officers from Baltimore City located the vehicle, parked and unoccupied in an apartment complex. The vehicle was quickly recovered by police.
The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in this Honda Accord at the new car buyer’s request in June, 2010.
