San Diego Police Recover Stolen Lexus RX300 Just Before it is Towed from Private Parking Lot

On the morning of February 5, 2012, the owner of a 2009 Lexus RX300 discovered that her vehicle had been stolen and quickly reported the theft to the San Diego Police Department.
After verifying the theft and completing a stolen vehicle report, the San Diego Police had the stolen Lexus’s VIN entered into the state and federal crime databases.
When the owner of this Lexus RX300 discovered that her vehicle had been stolen she reported the theft to the San Diego Police Department. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Lexus and initiated the tracking of the vehicle.
Forty minutes later, San Diego Police Department air and ground units began to receive the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Lexus on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the computer cues, the officers recovered the abandoned Lexus, as as it was being towed from a private property parking complex on Playa Avenue.
The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Lexus RX300 eleven years earlier. The current owner of the Lexus was very happy that her vehicle had been installed with LoJack, and even happer when she learned that the vehicle was recovered undamaged, and that she was able to drive it home.
