Audi Q7 Stolen from Middleburg Heights Recovered in Brook Park

On February 5, 2012, the owner of a 2010 Audi Q7 lent his vehicle to a friend. The friend had parked the Audi in the drive way of his residence in Middleburg Heights and left the keys inside the vehicle. In the early afternoon, the friend discovered the Audi missing and immediately contacted the owner. The owner then called the Middleburg Heights Police Department to report the theft.
After verifying the theft, the Middleburg Heights Police had the Audi’s VIN entered into the Ohio state and federal crime databases. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the stolen Audi. Neither the owner nor law enforcement had to do anything else to activate the LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery Network, because LoJack’s interface with law enforcement is both seamless and instantaneous.
A short while later, officers with the Brook Park Police Department received the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Audi on their tracking computers. Taking directions from their computers, the officers tracked and located the stolen Audi, parked and unoccupied in a residential area of Brook Park. Law enforcement believe that the suspects had parked it to “cool off”. The stolen Audi was impounded.
Because of the quick recovery, the vehicle had no damage and the suspects were unable to strip the vehicle or use it to commit other crimes.
The owner was happy that his wife had had LoJack installed on the Audi when they purchased it from Fred Baker Porsche Audi in February 2010. This matter is to be further investigated by the Brook Park Police Department.
