Plymouth Stolen and Recovered in Minutes in Suburban Chicago

On January 11, 2012 the owner of a 1998 Plymouth Expresso discovered that the vehicle had been stolen, and immediately contacted the Chicago Police Department to report the theft.
After verifying the theft and completing a stolen vehicle report, the Chicago Police had the Plymouth’s VIN entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Plymouth and initiated the tracking of the vehicle. Neither the owner nor the police have to do anything else to cause the activation of the LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery Network because LoJack’s interface with law enforcement is both seamless and instantaneous.
Twenty minutes later, a suburban police officer operating a police car equipped with a LoJack Police Tracking Computer began to pick up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Plymouth. The officer was a veteran of previous LoJack recoveries , and judging by the computer cues, he knew that he was very close to the vehicle. He quickly located the stolen Plymouth, parked and abandoned. The police contacted the owner, who responded to the scene to claim the vehicle.
