2010 Ford Fusion Stolen in Detroit, Recovered in Dearborn

On January 5, 2012, the owners of a 2012 Ford Fusion awoke to find the vehicle from their residence in Detroit, and immediately filed a theft report with the Detroit Police Department.
After verifying the theft, the Detroit Police had the Fusion’s VIN entered into the state and federal crime computer databases. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the stolen Ford. Neither the owner nor law enforcement had to do anything else to activate the LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery Network, because LoJack’s interface with law enforcement is both seamless and instantaneous.
A short while later, officers with the Dearborn Police Department received the silent LoJack signal on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Taking directions from their computers, the officers tracked and located the stolen Ford, parked and unoccupied in a business area of Dearborn.
Because of the quick recovery, the vehicle only sustained minor damage, and the suspects were unable to strip the vehicle or use it to commit other crimes.
The stolen Ford was released to the owners, who were happy that they had installed a LoJack Vehicle Recovery System in the vehicle when they purchased it from Village Ford in November 2011. This matter is to be further investigated by the Dearborn Police Department and Detroit Police Department.
