Lexus Stolen in Colorado Located in Good Condition

On January 20, 2012, while on routine patrol, a Colorado State Patrol Trooper began to pick up a silent LoJack signal on the Police Tracking Computer (PTC) installed in his patrol car. When he queried the code on the PTC with the national police computer database, he was informed that the distrress signals were coming from a 1992 Lexus that had been reported stolen from an abandoned property in rural Weld County earlier in the month.
Following the directional cues on the PTC, the trooper tracked the stolen Lexus to a towing company near 120th Avenue and US Highway 85, northeast of the Denver. There, he recovered the Lexus in good condition. The investigation by the Colorado State Police and Auto Theft Task Force investigators is continuing.
