Stolen From the Mall — Cadillac Escalade Recovered Quickly in Atlanta Area

On the afternoon of December 14, 2011, the owner of a 2007 Cadillac Escalade contacted the Dekalb Police Department to report that his vehicle had been stolen from a local shopping mall.
The reporting officer responded to the scene, prepared a stolen vehicle report and had the stolen Cadillac’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Cadillac — a system that was installed by a certified LoJack technician when the owner bought the SUV at Hennessy Cadillac.
A short while later, the LoJack unit hidden inside the stolen SUV began to transmit a silent signal to police cars in the area. An officer from the Dekalb County Police Department began to receive the signal on the LoJack Tracking Computer installed in his patrol vehicle, and tracked the Cadillac to an apartment complex near the mall. There, the officer located the abandoned vehicle in good condition.
