Denver Police Recover Stolen Toyota RAV-4 in Minutes Using LoJack

On January 6, 2012, the owners of a 2000 Toyota RAV-4 discovered the vehicle missing and contacted the Denver Police Department to report the theft.
The Denver Police responded to the scene, prepared a stolen vehicle report and had the stolen Toyota’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Toyota and initiated the tracking of the vehicle.
Just minutes later, officers with the Denver Police Department received the silent homing signal from the stolen Toyota on the Police Tracking Computers are installed in their patrol cars. Following the computer cues, the officers tracked the Toyota to South Kearny and East Mississippi, where they located the abandoned vehicle. They safely recovered the Toyota and returned it to the grateful owner.
The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the RAV-4 had at the original owner’s request in May 2000.
