On January 10, 2012, the owner of a 2002 Chevrolet Malibu contacted the La Verne Police Department to report the vehicle stolen. The La Verne Police responded to the scene, prepared a stolen vehicle report and had the stolen Malibu’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. On January 3, 2012, the owner of a 2006 Cadillac DTS stopped at a convenience store in the 1000 block of SE Maple Street of Hillsboro, and left the car running while he went inside.  An opportunistic thief jumped in the car and drove off.  The crime was reported to the Hillsboro Police Department who entered the VIN
