The LoJack® System Helps Thornton, Colorado Police Department Recover Stolen Honda Civic LX

In this case, the owner of a Honda Civic LX in Westminster, CO discovered her vehicle was missing on a recent Wednesday. Local law enforcement, assisted by the LoJack® system recovered it the same day and also apprehended the thief.

On April 2nd, 2014, the Honda’s owner contacted the Westminster Police to report that her vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the NCIC state and federal crime computer. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Civic, which was installed at AutoNation Honda in Westminster, CO.

A short while later, officers from the Colorado State Patrol and Northglenn PD picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Honda was located in the parking lot of a discount store in Thornton. Inside was the victim’s brother, who was taken into custody. The Civic was retrieved by Thornton Police, and soon returned to its very happy owner.
