On a recent Sunday in Houston, TX, the owners of a Dodge Caravan were visiting a shopping center. When they finally decided to leave with their purchases, they discovered their minivan had already left- with a thief. The LoJack® system installed in the Caravan helped local police recover it, quickly and safely, later that same day.

On March 23rd, 2014, the Dodge’s owners reported the incident to the Houston Police Department. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Caravan, which was installed at Ray Brandt Dodge in Harvey, LA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, officers from the South Houston PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen van on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Dodge was located traveling northbound on a major roadway. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver attempted to escape before pulling over in a residential area. Two juvenile suspects in the van attempted to flee on foot but were quickly apprehended. The Caravan was retrieved and soon returned to its relieved owners.
