A Ford F-350 was stolen from its owners’ residence in Portland, OR, sometime within a two hour period on a recent Thursday. The owners were smart enough to protect their pickup with the LoJack® system, which helped local law enforcement recover the vehicle, quickly and safely, that same day.

On March 27th, 2014, the Ford’s owners called the Portland Police Bureau to report the theft. Officers verified the information and entered the truck’s VIN (vehicle identification number) into the NCIC stolen vehicle database.  This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the F-350, which was installed at Premier Ford in Gladstone, OR.

A short while later, a Multnomah County Sheriff’s deputy received the homing signal transmitting from the stolen pickup on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol car.  The deputy located the Ford on SW Francis Boulevard, where it was found parked and abandoned.  The F-350 was retrieved and soon returned to its relieved owner.
