When a 2013 Miller welder was stolen in Dallas, TX, during the burglary of a construction company, management was glad they had protected the machine with the LoJack® system. With LoJack’s help, local police were able to recover the welder quickly and safely that same day.

On March 30th, 2014, the Miller’s owners contacted Dallas Police to report the burglary. Officers verified the theft and entered the welder information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the welder.

A short while later, officers from the Arlington Police picked up the homing signals from the stolen machine on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the Miller at a gas station, where it was on a trailer attached to a Ford pickup.  Two suspects who were filling up the truck claimed that they had just bought the welder at a local flea market.  Officers impounded all three machines. The welder, which was in good condition, was soon returned to the relieved business owners.
