The LoJack® System Assists San Antonio, Texas Police with Same Day Recovery of Stolen GMC Sierra

The San Antonio, TX resident in this case discovered his GMC Sierra missing from his driveway on a recent Monday morning. It’s a good thing that he chose to have the LoJack® system installed when he purchased his pickup. Local police, assisted by LoJack, were able to recover his truck later that same day.

On February 24th, 2014, the GMC’s owner contacted the San Antonio Police Department and reported the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Sierra, which was installed at Red McCombs Superior Main Lot in San Antonio, TX, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, officers from the SAPD Auto Theft Task Force picked up the homing signals from the stolen pickup on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers found the pickup parked and abandoned in the driveway of an abandoned home. After a short surveillance, the Sierra was retrieved and soon returned to its grateful owner.
