The Toyota RAV4 in this case was stolen from the owner’s home in Louisiana by an employee. With the LoJack® system, it doesn’t matter if the thief is a total stranger who hot-wired the vehicle or a family member with a key. LoJack will help police locate the vehicle quickly and safely.

On February 8th, 2014, the Toyota’s owner contacted the New Orleans Police Department to report the incident. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the RAV4, which was installed at Lakeside Toyota in Metairie, LA.

Later that same day, an NOPD officer picked up the homing signal from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computer in his patrol car. The officer located the Toyota in a vacant lot in the Holy Cross neighborhood, where it was parked and abandoned. The RAV4 was in great shape, and its owner was thrilled to have it returned.
