The LoJack® System Helps Nevada Highway Patrol Recover Stolen Ford F150 Super Crew in Three Hours, 30 Minutes

When a Ford F-150 Super Crew was discovered missing in Las Vegas, NV recently, its owner was happy there was a LoJack® system installed inside his truck. It took local police just three and a half hours after activation to recover the pickup with LoJack’s help.

On February 19th, 2014, the Ford’s contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the stolen vehicle information into the NCIC stolen vehicle system. The LoJack transponder concealed in the F-150, which was installed at Friendly Ford in Las Vegas, NV, was then automatically activated.

Late that evening, an officer with the LVMPD and a park ranger with the Bureau of Land Management began picking up the homing signal from the stolen truck with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. A sergeant with the Nevada Highway Patrol also joined them and located the Ford in a casino garage, where it was parked and abandoned. The undamaged F-150 was soon returned to its relieved owner.
