The owner of a Mini Clubman wagon in Las Vegas, NV, had just pulled up to his home late on a Wednesday afternoon when he started to have a medical episode. He rushed into his house but left his keys in the door. After he rested for a bit, he got up and discovered that his keys and his vehicle were gone. His family members called police right away to activate the LoJack® system hidden inside the car. With LoJack’s help, the Clubman was located in less than an hour after activation.

On February 19th, 2014, the Mini owner’s family members immediately contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Officers verified the theft and entered the stolen vehicle information into the NCIC Stolen Vehicle System. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Clubman, which was installed at Desert BMW of Las Vegas, NV.

A short while later, an officer with the LVMPD Southeast Area Command began picking up the homing signal from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The officer located the Mini parked and abandoned in back of a vacant home, and contacted the Southern Nevada Auto Theft Task Force to retrieve it. The Clubman’s owner was delighted to have his car returned to him.
